HRIA Women in Hire Program | Interview with Tegan Gillies
Can you tell us about your role at 1300TempFence?
Currently I’m the CSR for our South Australian Branch.
What initially drew you to joining the Women in Hire program?
The Hire industry is a heavily male dominated industry that is rapidly growing from the support of women; further developing my skills and abilities was something that was personal to me which is what the women in hire program is all about.
What does being a part of this program mean to you?
Being a part of this program is tremendous leap into the right direction. It is an opportunity to truly understand the involvement and impact women have in creating some of the countries best hire organisations.
What are you looking forward to most at HIRE24?
Bringing all my skills & capabilities to surface and further developing with new methods that will benefit my current and future roles & endeavours.
From your experience within the program, what stood out to you the most and what will you take away from this experience?
The close-knit relationship that is created. No question goes unanswered. You feel a great sense of confidence from the excellent mentors which transfers over into day-to-day tasks.
Why would you recommend your program?
If you feel stagnant, unsure where you stand or simply want to blossom this is the right pogrom for you. It is a serious testament to all the hard work women have made the Hire industry and will continue to make.
What advice would you give to someone considering of signing up?
You will never know if you never try. Be bold and take the leap. The only direction you go in when you take part of the project, is up.
